چکیده

Radiol Bras. 2017 Jan/Fev;50(1):62–68 66 http://dx.doi.org/10.1590/0100-3984.2015.0186 the arterial and venous systems, without intervening capillary beds, account for less than 10% of all cerebral vascular malformations. The most common place of occurrence is the transverse sinus, and there have been no reports of bilateral arterial supply. The two principal forms of presentation are hemorrhagic and non-hemorrhagic, both typically occurring as a consequence of intracranial venous hypertension, which appears as the best predictor of poor prognosis. Cerebral angiography continues to be the gold standard for the diagnosis of DAVF, in which the nidus represents the arteriovenous shunt itself and collateral vessels develop in order to drain the venous congestion. Injury due to venous congestion is an example of a severe non-hemorrhagic manifestation, which can be prevented through the early diagnosis of DAVF, the treatment of choice being endovascular therapy, with the objective of interrupting the arterial supply to the venous system.

Extramedullary plasmacytoma of the trachea

Rationale: Extramedullary plasmacytomas (EMPs) are rare solitary soft tissue tumors characterized by monoclonal proliferation of plasma cells. Most lesions occur in the head and neck, but primary tracheal lesions are very rare. Patient Concerns: In this report, we describe a case of tracheal EMP discovered in a 48-year-old man who presented with a history of progressive dyspnea. Diagnoses: Comp...

The Extramedullary Plasmacytoma of the Trachea (EPT) is an extremely rare condition and presents as a tracheal expanding mass. The most common symptoms consist of coughing, dyspnoea, voice change, stridor and expiratory wheezing. The diagnosis is done...

Stridor in a Newborn with Double Aortic Arch-A Case Report

Introduction: Double aortic arch (DAA) is a congenital anomaly of the aortic arch. It is the most common type of complete vascular ring. When it occurs, the connected segment of the aortic arch and its branches encircle the trachea and esophagus, leading to symptoms related to these two structures. Case Report: We present a case of a newborn baby who developed biphasic stridor immediately after...
